Boca Bearings
On this blog we celebrate the progress of our sponsored team, Aeros Racing. Boca Bearings is a proud supporter of this great team. Without further ado let's hear it directly from the team.

With just under four months until the 2024 World Finals, our team has been working hard to ensure adequate progress has been made in order to assert ourselves as a high ranking and competitive team among the world's best. Specifically, we have shifted focus to work primarily on the engineering and manufacturing side of the project.
One of the driving factors in creating our car is the testing and designing process in which our team applies various aerodynamics principles to create different car models. Our team uses CAD (computer-aided design) models and CFD (computational fluid dynamic) analysis to test various iterations of our car to help us determine which models we should manufacture and subsequently test on our track. Using these digital tools allows us to experiment and take risks when designing our car, as we aren’t limited by the amount of material we have to produce our car.
Another project our engineering team has been working on is integration testing, which allows us to understand how each of the different components of the car work together. After creating a 3D printed “lego car” body, we were able to create adjoining pieces for each different component (front wing, back wing, side pods) with multiple different iterations of each. This allowed us to mix and match different parts and designs, which we then tested for which combination of designs worked together the best. We were able to manipulate small things in this test, such as the angle of our front wing, allowing us to account for more subtle changes.
This past weekend, a few of our members visited and volunteered at Plant Chicago, a local non-profit organization focused on sustainability and innovation. During this visit, we had the chance to learn more about waste production within Chicago, and different strategies our team could use to minimize our carbon footprint. We conducted an interview with Eric Weber, their director of operations, helping us learn more about how F1 in Schools teams can focus on sustainability through a few simple strategies.
Lastly, we would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation for all of your support in our journey to Worlds. We truly value your dedication to helping our team. Thank you so much, and we look forward to continuing our success!
Best,
Aeros Racing
