Description

Ceramic Lightning, ABEC #5, fishing reel bearing 10 packs are specially designed for use in any fishing reel. These bearings have ceramic balls, with stainless steel races, retainers and shields. Ceramic hybrids cast longer, spin faster and are more corrosion resistant than traditional bearings. All fishing reel bearings are supplied dry, without any grease or oil.     Teddy was very professional, he took my order without any editorializing, which I appreciated a great deal.



    The bearings themselves exceeded my expectations. After I serviced my oldest Shimano Curado 200DHSV, (#FTP103C-YZZ #5 LD & SMR95C-YZZ #5 NB2) I was like a kid spinning the spool watching the spin-down time exceed what I considered possible. Comparing it to the much newer 200DHSV, the factory bearings on that unit seemed to have brakes on (they weren�t) by comparison. I even thought that the second one might not improve as much as the first, but once I finished the bearing swap on that one, it too became a source of entertainment. These ceramic hybrids really do make a difference.


    I�ve done quite a bit of reel repair for a fair number of smaller circuit semi-pro fisherman, once they see my reels I�m pretty well confident they�ll be wanting upgrades too.

    I have been upgrading my small baitcasting reels for years. One of the major upgrades is bearings, I use Boca Bearing's Lightning Series ceramic bearings for all the spool bearings. They'll increase your casting distance.

    Yesterday I received the 10 bearing SMR103C-YZZ#5 LD [3x10x4 mm] kit I had ordered on Feb 3. I checked all the bearings and they were as I had expected...excellent. Boca also sent some freebies . The mouse pad with bearing guide is a nice addition to the computer space on my workbench. I needed a new pad and one magically appeared in the mail. Also, both the sheet of vinyl decals in two different sized and the bearing cleaning and installation guide were an extra nice touch. The quick turn around on the order helped me get a reel back to a customer who was headed to Mexico this week.
